I'm looking for a good scratch strawberry cake, someone had told me once but since my old post's got deleted in the crash I remember for the life of me what it was called! LOL!

I'm also looking for a good chocolate cake that is good for carving, I found really good moist chocolate cakes but if I tried to carve them, they would fall apart.

thanx

i use my basic white/yellow cake recipe (whatever your fav is) and add: 1/4 tsp strawberry lorann oil, and strawberry puree (to taste). its fantastic. the only strawberry cake recipes i've seen have been terrible. bad texture, bad crumb, just so-so on the taste. so i developed this myself. i'm strictly a scratch baker, and once i found a good base "white" cake recipe, i add different flavorings to get what i want. thats how i do lemon, spice, cookies n cream, white chocolate, etc.

any cake that you're going to carve should be very well chilled or partially frozen. i keep my in the walk in cooler overnight, then they are perfect for carving the next day.
