you add 1 tsp gum tex powder to 12 oz of fondant knead really good pull and stretch it good then add your color knead and stretch really good gumpaste is more pliable and dries faster and harder nicholas lodge has a great recipe on his website for gumpaste and wilton gumpaste is really good to work with also i don,t like satin ice gumpaste for me it is too soft and wet feeling but that is just my opinion i usually make nicholas lodge recipe it dries fast and you can work with it really good other people have good recipes also you can add tylose powder to your fondant also you usually have to order that michaels acmoore etc does not carry it hope this helps

Order the tylose pwder from Nick mentioned, his is the best! I use his recipe all the time, when I am out, I knead tylose into fondant.
