Has anyone added a pudding mix to a scratch cake? and if so do you revise the recipe a bit, or just add it in? Does it come out better?
Thanks!

I've added one small box to a white recipe. The recipe is a really good one but it was lighter than I wanted. I added the pudding in hopes of giving it some substance...make it denser. It did make it a smidge denser. It didn't make it better just different...just as good as the original.

I've only tried it once. I didn't make any other adjustments to the recipe...just added the pudding.

Yes, and it comes out more moist and a little more dense. No need to change anything else.

One tip: If you're making a white cake use white chocolate pudding. The vanilla puddings may leave tiny specks of yellow or orange in the cake.
