I see all these posts for the Canon IP3500 to make edible images but why that brand/model? Can I use my "regular" photo printer? I know I don't want to mix my personal printer with what I use for edible images but why can't I use my photo printer if it has never been used before?

Are these great deals on Amazon new or refurbished printers?

I'd really like to get an edible image of my son's Mustang Cobra for his grooms cake. icon_wink.gif

I think there's only certain printers that you can get the edible ink cartridges for. They wont fit in every printer. If you go to the articles on here I believe there is a list of prnters that you can use. You can also check at kopykakes website also.
I just bought the Canon one, haven't used it, but got it since it was on sale.

The printer on Amazon is new. And it's 60 bucks, which makes it a great deal for those wanting to own their own edible image system.

If you have a new unused printer that Kopykake makes edible ink cartridges for, by all mean use it.

The popularity of the IP3500 is because it is very inexpensive.
