Several have asked how I made my pine cones so here it is.

How To Make Pinecones

1.  Color Gum paste and royal icing brown. Try to get the two browns as close a match as possible.

2.  Make large teardrop bases as you would for making very large roses, but flatten the tip of the base. Insert a toothpick dipped in gum glue adhesive. Let dry around 24 hours.

3.  With matching brown Royal Icing (or as close to matching as you can get it) pipe one petal straight across the flattened tip of the base. Then in the opposite direction of the first, petal pipe two petals piping one on each side of the base.

4.  Now pipe four petals around the top row of petals. From this point on add rows of petals as you would if you were making a rose, only using shorter petals and more of them per row.

Any questions just ask.
