I'm wondering what happened to my red roses I made for a cake that has to be delivered tomorrow. I used Americolor's "Super Red" I think is what it is called. Anyway, the edges of all the petals turned a darker color than the rest of the flower. I was wondering if I should make all new roses tonight to put on the cake or if the roses would be alright as they are. I didn't think to take a picture of them to post for you to see. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Is it completely dry yet? No expert here, but after reading many post...I have read that as it dries the color will darken, and if just edges are dry, that could be what you are noticing?

I concur with NewbeeBaker. If the buttercream or whatever you used was uniform in color there is no reason it should dry in different tonalities.Wait till one dries completely and see.

Here are a couple of pictures of the cake with a close up of the roses. I think you will be able to see how the edges are darker. I guess it worked out ok. Everyone thinks they are pretty and very natural looking.

Apparantly I don't know how to attach pictures. I will put the pictures in my photos.

I really have no clue why it would have done that, but they look very nice! It actually adds a nice touch to them, I think!
Sorry I couldn't help with your dilemma though,

I think it actually looks kind of neat that way. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it
