I just finished covering my cakes with fondant and wondered if there's a certain amount of time to let it rest before putting dowels in (I didn't want to tear the fondant if I put them in too soon and it's still settling!) to stack the cakes. Thanks!!!

I don't really have a set time that I wait, I usually cover the cakes biggest to smallest and then go back and dowel and stack the same way, biggest to smallest, so any chance of those problems happening have probably passed.
I know this isn't much help but wait a few minutes if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Thanks Jibbies!

I'll go put them in now. This is the first time I've actually covered a cake with fondant, so I'm trying really hard not to mess it up! Hee-hee! It looks pretty good so far!
