if i make gumpaste roses with white gumpaste, can i use petal dust to color them later? i want to start making them for a cake coming up, but the customer is not sure what color she wants...
thanks!
also, any suggestions where to purchase petal dust?
yes, but it gets harder to get the color in the center bits really well. I tend to do mine in stages (I work with white gumpaste, but I do a few rosw, let those dry, dust them, then do the remaining rows, let dry , dust them.
Most of the flowers in my pictures are done this way.
I use pastel chalks (non-toxic) from Michaels that I grind with my microplane.
your flowers are beautiful!
how did you get such deep colors?
that is a great idea to use chalk!
do you steam it to set the colors?
