Hi Everyone,
Just thought that I would post this link to this item from QVC. I saw the presentation, they are fantastic...can't wait to get them!!!!
http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail
The link doesn't take me to the item, but to a search page. What's the item, so I can search for it?
Sorry about that
Here is the item information:
Item Number L13905
Set of 3 Decorative CakeVases by Kathleen
I wish that I could have seen it on air, because I am just not seeing it with the pictures that they provide. I really cant tell what it is.
I don't get it either Maybe Stephanie214 will log back on and describe what she liked about it.
I guess I would need to see how to use it. The pictures to me are just grey circles - makes no sense. Cool idea though.
Looks to me that you set the plate on top of your iced cake then insert the flowere into the holes. I am guessing there is a space for water and the flower stems never touch the cake.
Yep, it is one of those must see live to appreciate .
Granpam explained it well. Once you place the circles on the cakes, you just add the flowers and bang...beautiful floral arrangement on top of the cake.
They did different arrangements and each one was trully gorgeous
You can order them with a 30 day return policy from QVC
I just bought something like it off eBay - made by Wilton - don't know if it's old or new, though.
just go to qvc.com and put on the keyword search CakeVases. and this item is the only one that will come up!
I just contacted QVC requesting that they post some pictures so that the item can be viewed with clarity. I was informed by the representative that my request had been submitted and indeed, he agreed that better views would be great.
He also stated that more requests for better views would help a lot. So, if you feel like taking the time to call and put in a request, please do

i saw these being presented on tv the other day.
they are a thin plastic "plate", sort of like a cake separator plate. they have molded "wells" in them, sort of like an artist mixing plate, but deeper. so you put water in the wells, then you put fresh cut flowers in the wells so they will stay fresh on top of your cake.
Did they happen to say when they would be presenting these again? From the pictures I can't really figure out how this would look. I guess I have something different in mind.
thanks,
terri
Thanks cakeandbooks. What a great idea! I'm sure there must be a way one could make them. I am going to have a try. I tell my brides 'it is not my policy to put fresh flowers on cakes but that does not stop them from having them but the responsiblity is theirs.' With this fresh flowers will be okay.
There was a thread about this just the other day, sorry I can't find it, but the inventor of the cake vase is a CC member, pretty cool!
On the QVC page there is a tab that says "Video." When you click on it, you can watch a video of the presentation of these items.
you can type just the item number in the search window... L13905
and where they have the photos there is a little tab that says VIDEO... click there you can see the live performance
here is a direct link... not sure if it will work!
