I need to do a dummy cake with a charater pan ie. Wilton's Santa Claus pan.What could I use since there are no dummies for them???

What about plaster or cast making material? You could coat the pan thick enough to make a shell, then fill the shell with spongy foam or something like that.

Or line the pan with some kind of saran wrap and fill the pan with a mold-making material and use that. That way, you'd only have to make one mold instead of two.

I had done a dummy cake of Dora the Explorer, it was pretty easy. Cut a piece of styrofoam the shape of the pan. this is your base. Then take some pre-plastered stripping and wet then cover top of pan with 2 layers of strips let dry. remove from pan and place on the base. seal with a strip of the plaster strip. when that is dry Ice with royal icing just as you would a cake.
