hi all
well ive decided that since my baking skills have gotten better im going to make my own birthday cake for the first time this year.

I havent decided if its gonna be tiered or not- there will only really be 5 of us (my parents, my brother and his gf and myself- my best friend moved 5 hrs away and my bf is in the middle east)

but any extra cake ill take to work since they love my cakes

its gonna be covered in either fondant or marzipan

I want to do something celtic- im studying druidism and have always been fascinated by it- i think i was a druid in a past life.

anyway
i havent really decided on a flavor yet
im gonna do a couple of little test batches this weekend to see what flavor I want.
Ive made the "ultimate chocolate fantasy" cake with the marshmellow/cream cheese filling and loved it- so that will be one candidate. Im thinking maybe that with an added layer of raspberry mousse or something fruity.

I also want to try making one of those pumpkin cakes but I dont know what else to try.

This will also be my first attempt at scroll work.

any suggestions, ideas, tips would be greatly appreciated.
