I have a baby einsteing cake order for this weekend and I just love the cakes I've seen here. I have a question though...If i just use half of the ball pan, is it possible to cut that in half and fill that?
does this make sense? I hope someone can help.

I don't see why not! I haven't done that but I have used the pan as a whole but I see no reason why you couldn't use just the half!

Cut in half (or even 3rds), make an icing dam about 1/4 inch in, fill, stack. I used lollipop sticks to hold it together, and iced. Using a tip (star or big icing tip) would help to go around the shape.

What exactly are you making? That would make a difference on how it's iced. This would be GREAT to cover with fondant, because of the domed shape.

I'm making a baby einstein worm or is it a catepillar? I'd like to use buttercream icing. its for a one year old's birthday and i don't think fondant would go over too well.
thanks so much for your help.
