I am in the process of making a bucket cake with beer inside of it. the cornsyrup and sugar mixture i used for ice has decided to start melting on my cake. i have to deliver it tommorrow , does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do?

try using jello, make it in a sheet pan or square pan and cut squares out. HTH!!

I would suggest to not put the "ice"on until the very last minute. I know the buttercream will cause it to start to "melt".

Can you put a layer of something inbetween the ice and the bc, like fondant, etc? Something that won't be seen?

Girls,

I had no idea that the buttercream will start the ice melting , why do you think that is?

I'm guessing the moisture in the bc is just dissolving the sugar. So if you could create a barrier between the "ice" and the bc, it will stay dry and thus not disintegrate...?
