I am looking to bake cupcakes in advance for the holidays. I am making 7 dozen for a cake/cookie swap. Can I freeze them and for how long?

yes, you can freeze them. I have frozen them for up to a month, just be sure to wrap them well. I just thaw them out on the counter still wrapped.

You can freeze them but be aware that the liners may separate from the cupcakes when they thaw. You may need to transfer the thawed cupcakes to new liners.

mmm... I just thawed some cupcakes I had in my freezer since Halloween.... I know, so looong ago and they were as good as the day I froze them!! The liners didn't separate, thank God! They were not for sale, just for my family... nice to find cake when you had forgotten about them.
All I did was to carefully place them in ziploc baggies tops up and freeze like that. No odors got into them. They were in the same drawer as a bag of frozen chicken, veggies and shrimp!! HTH

I have a deep freezer and have stashed cupcakes in there for as long as a few months. No odor and they taste just fine.
