Hi all!

I am doing a cake for a client whose son is going to be studying in Mexico for his last year of college. She wanted something in Spanish on the cake however the only Spanish we know is 'hasta la vista' and to be honest I'm not sure exactly what this means.

Does anyone have any good, simple words in Spanish that I could do on the cake? She would like to say something along the lines of "Good Luck Ben!". I know we have some fabulous Spanish speaking folks on here....any ideas?

Gracias!

Hi tripletmom:

I try to help you. (sorry... my english is regular)

As mrsrunning wrote "Good luck Ben!" means "Buena Suerte Ben!"

or if you prefer write in english and I give you translation in spanish...the same way we use...with modismos.

You can translate any language into any other language for free at www.babelfish.altavista.com. If you can't get that link to work, google "Babelfish" and it wil pull up the website. You can translate English ,Spanish, French, German, anything.

How about these..........

Mejores Deseos = Best Wishes

Que Dios te guarde = God be with you

Hasta la vista = so long.

Buena Suerte = good luck.

Te deseamos lo mejor = we wish you the best

Buen Viaje = safe trip

Portate Bien = behave

I'll keep thinking of more and let you know.
Regards, Naty

Thank you to everyone who helped me out on this. I went with Hasta la vista. The client loved the cake and I had a lot of fun making it. You can see it in my photos.

Naty, I used the yellow cake that you posted earlier and it is an awesome recipe. It did stick to the pan so i will use parchment in the future. I also brushed with a vanilla simple syrup and it was sooooooo good!

tripletmom,
I am glad you liked the cake. It is really light and fluffy; almost like the boxed cake mixes.

It's the only yellow cake recipe I use.

I'm glad everyting worked out.

Where do I go to see the photo again?

Thanks,
Naty
