Do You Torte The Doll Cake?

It's just the wondermold, not going on top of another cake. Would you torte and fill it? I'd hate for all the pieces not to have icing, but I'm afraid that if I torte and fill with bc it won't be smooth. What would you do?

I never thought about torting the doll cake - but it sounds awesome. I may have to try it now!!!

if you are serving- and want to not worry about torting just in case it slides- you could have an icing bag nearby and give the un iced pieces a nice swirly dollop of icing- good way to use leftover icing too!
That's a cool idea to pipe a little icing on the uniced pieces!!!!
I'll have to remember that!

I'm just wondering what kind of filling you used when you torted the doll cake? I am making one for next weekend, and I will be using SMBC. Do you think that it will be strong/sturdy enough if I torte the cake (hopefully) twice?
TIA,
Crystal

This icing is great because it gets hard when chilled. You can work on things without bulging and such. i only use SMBC.
