how much gumtex or even if I should add gt to it to make loops for side bows for Anniversary cake. I don't want to try it if it will make it unworkable. This stuff rolls wonderfully and I love it already!!!! Please help me if you can ...have to make at least 60 loops and ribbons for this cake!

Thank you so much for your time and advice!

Have a wonderful day!

I've not tried to mix gum tex with chocopan. I've only used it with regular fondant. I just sprinkle some on my silpat and knead it in. Just an estimation, really. I would think you'd have to use something, as I have heard that chocopan can be softer than regular fondant.

Having recently worked with Chocopan, I would think that you would definitely need to add gumtex or use 1/2 gumpaste 1/2 Chocopan to make your bow. I found the Chocopan didn't really get hard so it probably wouldn't hold up on its own for a bow. As far as how much gumtex to use, I can't help you. Sorry!

I've mixed gumpaste 50/50 with chocopan and it worked well for the swags on this cake and the leaves on this one. The leaves held their shape well (I dried them on rumpled foil so they wouldn't be too flat) so I would think it would work for bows as well. I just took equal parts and kneaded them together.
