done a 3D panda bear or any kind of bear and not used a star tip?

I am making a cake for my cousins little girls 1st birthday and it has to be the 3d panda (tradition on the dad's side) but I really dislike cakes covered in the star tip. I was trying to think how I could make it look like fur. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

they have a tip that has a bunch of holes in it. (sorry I don't have the tip) You can use it for grass, or like fur. I will try to find you a picture example.... BRB

I would use a grass tip. I think it's #233

sure use the grass tip instead, it looks like fur, or you could just cover it roughtly with icing and lightly pull a fork thru to make the fur look.

I tried that link but it comes up with Santa burning on a chimney top...

I would ice the panda then use the grass tip or a fork or just pull the icing up with a spatula...

The grass tip actually produces 'hair' when you push the icing through it. It would take ages to cover a bear with the grass tip (or you could use a sugar shaper with the grass plate at the end) but it would look better than the star tip would. ALternatively you could push very stuff royal icing, buttercream through a seive to get the same effect - you'd need to experiment with the thickness of the buttercream to make sure it held after pushing it through.
