Hooray! Here it is! I loved making this one. The bride was my best friend's, little sister's best friend. She had a VERY Victorian wedding, complete with lace and frills everywhere. At first I was unsure, but I think in the end it turned out great. I have never done the cornelli lace before, but now I am a fan. It was so easy!
The cakes were 6", 10", and 14". It only took 2 batches of MMF (1 10oz bag each of reg and strawberry) to cover. I used royal icing for the lace and swag dots, and premade fondant in my new bead maker for the trim. (I LOVE my bead maker!!!)
I was so relieved that I didn't have any problems at all. I learned so much from the first one that I think I was much better prepaired for this one. I got to stay and cut the cake too, which was fun. The only thing I was bummed about was 2 days before the wedding the bride decided to use that cake topper. I think it would have been even more beautiful if I would have been able to make a topper with roses and ribbon. Oh well. =)
Thanks for looking!!!
i just love pink!!! it is my very favorite color!!!! and you did an outstanding job on this cake...it is so beautiful...so well put together and just so wonderful to look at!!!! great job!!!!! Perfect!!!!
Brea your cake is lovely. Cornelli lace is one of my favorites too. As you get used to it try to make your squiggles smaller and closer together as this will give it an even more delicate look.
This is such an elegant looking cake. I can't wait to try something like this. You did a great job!!!

Love it. Never thought of using strawberry marshmallows. I bet the chocolate would be good too!!!
Wow! Thank you all for the wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it. I have to say that learning from you all these past 10 months has been wonderful. I remember signing on last christmas thinking that it would be impossible for me ever make anything as lovely as your cakes. Everything I know I have learned from CC and watching Duff (ace of cakes). So thank you to everyone for helping me develop skills and for encouraging me t dream big!
2 down- who know's how many more to go! Yay! =)
