Yep, I'm dork. Now, how do you accomplish a pattern like the one on the bottom layer of this cake? Is it a cutter or is it done free-handed? Any advice is appreciated. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1069463.html

since these are cut on the counter, then applied, you can use a ruler and a pizza wheel to cut a bunch at once.
