I'll try to remember to look it up when I go home for lunch. I should have it in my collection of cookbooks ..... not that it's an addiction icon_redface.gif or anything .... [sneering at what husband will say when I tell him I have to find another recipe for a "dear friend" .... he seems to think you're all just figments of my very active imagination!!!]

I have a Toffee bar Cake, if this helps...

Toffee Bar Cake

1 box chocolate cake, made according to instuctions for two 8 inch round cakes
1 container Non-Dairy Whipped Topping
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1/2 cup Caramel Sundae topping
6 Skor or Heath candy bars, crushed
1/2 cup shopped nut topping

Mix whipped topping, syrups, and equivalent to 5 skor/heath bars together.
Spread some on top of one cake, and place other cake directly on top of that one.
Put more on top of that cake and on sides.
Sprinkle the rest of skor bar crumbs on top.
Put in freezer for about an hour, or until firm.
For presentation, on top layer, swirl chocolate and caramel syrups on top in pattern for looks!

Melissa,

I have a Cake Mix Doctor Book, but did not see the recipe in there. Is the recipe under a different name?

I have a recipe for bars in this book called "Candy Bars" which uses snickers or some other candy bar for a topping and then there is a "Toffee Crunch Cheesecake" recipe. Could one of these be the it? I know Anne Byrn has more than one book out there though.

Thanks everyone! I thought it was from the cake mix doctor book but I might be wrong. We are currently remodeling (yet again*sigh*) and the books were accidently put into the storage unit we rented. thanks for all the recipes, I should be alright now.

O.K I dont know if this is what your looking for but here is one from one of my community cookbooks 1983:

Toffee Bars

1/2 cup butter 2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla 1 cup chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar together, add vanilla. Work in the flour, cream well. Then mix in the chocolate chip's and pecans.Press mixture into ungreased 10x15 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Let set and cool then cut into pieces.

Here's another one:

Pecan Bars

1 cup flour 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp.soda 1/4 cup butter, cut in
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine these ingredients. Press into a 13x9x2 inch pan and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Then:

3 eggs 1/4 tsp.salt
2 Tbsp. flour 1 cup pecans
1/4 cup brown sugar 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg's add flour, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat 2 minutes, add 1/2 cup pecans. Pour this over the partially baked cookie base. Sprinkle with rest of pecan's over top. Bake 15 minutes. Melt chocolate chips and spread over top. Let set, when cool cut into pieces.

I hope this is close to what your looking for icon_smile.gif

Sorry the listed ingredients are so close together. I had typed them in 2 columns from left to right but when I submitted they ended up close together. Hmmm.
