Just got a last minute order for this weekend (yes, that's last minute to me icon_smile.gif ) - they are having a birthday party for 2 guys, one is a police officer, the other is in the airforce. She wants a small sheet cake - nothing fancy, but how in the world do I do this one???

The only thing I can think is to put message in the middle of the cake and then draw or make a fbct of the emblems that they each wear and put one on either side of the message. Or what about a police car and an Airforce plane? Hope that helps spark some ideas.

Yeah, so far I'm thinking of doing a shield on one side and the airforce emblem on the other and just writing Happy Birthday. It will probably have to be done in fondant since she wants something silver icon_smile.gif.

Do you know what job he does in the AF? My hubby is active duty so I could give ya ideas based on the job....or you could do something with his rank or maybe a camo blouse and boots out of fondant. Camo pattern is pretty easy....I just did appx 150 cupcakes for a Combat Dining In 2 weeks ago. Oh, and if you're making a badge for the copy, maybe a set of dog tags out of silver fondant, VERY easy and really cool looking.

My BIL's are cops and they had a cake one time with a badge on it made out of fondant as well as a police cap. You could also make some police tape (the yellow "police line do not cross") out of fondant.

I'd definately put Happy Birthday "rank - officer's name" and "rank - airman's name"

Good luck and I'd love to see pics when you get it done!!

I like the idea of dog tags - never thought of that. Thanks for all the ideas.
