Freezing Ri Decorated Cookies Help....
Baking By notjustcake Updated 1 Oct 2007 , 4:39pm by notjustcake
Ok so I have to make these but I have to freeze, the question is that the cookies need time to dry by the time they do and I freeze them, they won't be so fresh, does that matter in sugar cookies? Can i decorate them and let them dry for one day then freeze even they are not fully dry? When I thaw them will the colors run? Sorry so many questions
You can let them dry then freeze them.. they stay pretty fresh. I was told to wrap them or put them in a freezer bag, when you take them out of the freezer let them defrost in the bag so that the bag has the condensation on them and not the cookies.. once they are defrosted then unwrap them.. i did my first batch last weekend and they are in the freezer now..
Just like tye said. That will work. Just make sure that you don't open the container of cookies while thawing. I've never had a problem with freezer decorated cookies and thawing them. Taste just as fresh. Also, darker colors MAY run/bleed. I've never had an issue but I thought I would just throw that out there for you.
thank you so much I thought I better ask this before CC goes down
