Hellp,

I'm new here and to cake making; but next weekend I'm making a cake for a holiday party. I was thinking of doing a plain white cake with a peppermint-whipped cream filling. Do you think this sounds good? I'm open to beter ideas, but there can be no chocolate.

Yes, that sounds pretty tasty to me.

I have used both these recipes with great success:

(Substitute vanilla and/or peppermint for the almond.)

Mmm, that sounds good! A chocolate cake with the peppermint filling would also be great!

that sounds very good. You could crush some candy canes and put it on the sides of the cake it looks like confetti. Its always very popular with my family

I love vanilla with peppermint- it mellows it out just a little, while still being cool and refreshing!
