Ok, here is a pic of my very first wedding cake. I can now say that I officially HATE squares icon_mad.gif The bride loved it, ( It was pretty dim in there!) And most of the guests left before they even cut the cake so not much even got eaten! I'll chalk it up to experiance icon_smile.gif

I can see why the bride loved it. It's very well done and looks great.

Is it buttercream or fondant? How did you get the edges so clean looking? You scared me when you wrote that you officially hate squares LOL. I have my first wedding cake in Dec and she wants squares. I'm already nervous. Any tips?

Very nice job on both cakes! I have yet to do a square cake but I have the pans! Doesn't count, I know, but the squares intimidate me a little. LOL

Congrats!!! You did a fabulous job. Your corners look perfect, you have nothing to fear from square cakes.

Well then you have to see Aine2's tutorial on doing a square cake with fondant!! I'm going to try it here before too long.
