I have a customer who wants a cake and 2 dozen cupcakes. I don't usually do cupcakes so I'm not sure what to charge. Can any one help me with a price to qoute her?
I usually charge for 2 doz. $24.00...however, if there are fondant or candy accents or more elaborate technique then I charge more.
edited to add that I have charged up to $38.00 for 2 dozen before.
i think that your prices sounds good, it really depends on how much detail she wants. She'll understand that they're a custom order so of course they're going to be more than a grocery store or whatever. Hope it goes well.
I recently did 24 cupcakes with edible imags for $50. For buttercream only I would charge $36.
It completely depends on what she's asking for. Simple cupcakes.. starting at $1.50 each. Custom cake and filled with something other than BC with a custom design.. at least $2.50 each but probably closer to $3.00 and up.
Cupcakes are a pain.. you have 24 little cakes to decorate. My prices start at $1.50 for a basic cupcake though. You get chocolate or vanilla cake and a swirl of BC with rainbow sprinkles for that. My fancy cupcakes start at $2.50 each.. you get any non premuim cake you want filled with any non-premium filling topped with buttercream and no design. You want carrot cupcakes filled with cc filling and topped with smoothed lemon scented BC with a gumpaste pacifier on it.. that'll be at LEAST $4.50 each. They are paying for a single serving of cake.. it should be no different than your regualr cake prices IMHO.
For the cupcake towers (trees) that I put together, I charge $4 per serving but that also includes a 6" or 8" cake on top.
I fill all the cupcakes with whatever filling they desire and the cake is custom created with their preferred flavors, too.
