My favorite is Sugarshacks, it's in the recipe section. It depends on what you like. What are you using right now? Welcome to CC icon_smile.gif

2 of everything buttercream:
2 cups of butter (can be 1 cup of shortening/1C butter)
2 pounds powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons flavoring (can be any combination you usually use).

Cream shortening/butter; add flavoring & cream; *slowly* add sugar; beat up to 15 minutes. This is a NON-crusting b'cream.
If you want this to crust lightly use 1C shortening; 1/2 C butter.

I LOVE IMBC, but if I HAVE to use a shortening BC, I use WBH. It is a more fluffy BC, not a heavy one that most shortening based BC's produce. And if it is a requested bc (the shortening one) I have even combined IMBC and the WBH BC, and that was very good!

SMBC is Swiss Meringue Buttercream. IMBC is Italian Meringue Buttercream thumbs_up.gif

smbc = Swiss Meringue Buttercream

There are several versions of SMBC listed in CC's recipe section and probably some in the forums as well.

For normal, non crusting BC, I use wilton's recipe. Especially for chocolate, it's the easiest for me (no KA in my house yet) and has a great flavor.

For a crusting BC, I love Indydebi's recipe. It's amazing. I'll see if I can find and post it for you.

Wilton's buttercream is the only one I use and everyone loves it.
