Grain Colored Fondant

I was reading on line that you can take the brown or whatever color you want and put it into the fondant just don't mix it throughly, but I didn't know if this was the only way to do it.

I'll have to try your idea.

Are you talking about a woodgrain look?
You can do it by marbelling fondant. I would color one ball of fondant light brown and another ball of fondant dark brown. Then you twist as you knead them together. Stop mixing them before you have the look you want- remember you still have to roll it out, which will do more blending of the colors.
