I learned an easy lesson the hard way this morning. I made MMF/Gumpaste Turkeys and they weren't drying so last night when I was done baking and the oven had cooled I put them in there with the door cracked. The door shut sometime last night. I received one more order for a pumpkin roll this morning and not thinking turned the oven on to 375 and after a few minutes smelled something funny. Yep, I had roasted turkeys. They had melted into a pile of goo, UGH!
So I guess I have finally learned always check the oven before you turn it on.

Any clues on how to get the new ones I made to dry before tomorrow?

I dry my pieces in a 175 degree oven. Leave them in for only 1 hour. They should then be hard enough to retain their shape, and air dry the rest of the way.

i heard that mmf should never be put in the oven, because marshmallows melt. with the introduction of gumpaste ...i know it should make it more stable, but with heat??? good luck.

Well i can tell you don't put MMF in a dehydrator, i did that to my eagle and it started to melt through the holes in the tray, luckily i was watching it and was able to salvage ~ and that was very low heat!
