I have a 4 tier wedding cake, 14" 12" 10" 8", due tomorrow at 4pm.

Husband I went to carry it from the counter to the table. The worse happened, it just tumbled over. Husband is out buying mixes as I write this. I'm taking a breather, I have a long night ahead of me.

It's 11pm one more hour and I will have a new day. Maybe that one will be better.

Oh, Janette, I would have burst out in tears. I bet he felt really bad, too!

Kinda makes us all appreciate that short walk from counter to table on the Food Network Challenges!

I just put a pot of hot coffee on your front porch (adding the contents of the little brown bag beside it are totally optional) icon_lol.gif

Good luck tonight...It will be a long one, but you can do it.

(I love your ticker for Halloween...totally my favorite holiday...which reminds me that I should either be working on my cakes for the weekend or sewing some costumes!)

Oh you poor poor thing.. (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) I wish I could help you bake those cakes again. I hope that it wasn't complete when it happened. I dread this happening to me someday.. I hope that your DH can help you with all of the mixing and baking so it's not so daunting. Try to see a bright side (as hard as that is).. at least it happened now and not with 3 hours to go. I'll be thinking of you tonight.

Wow, that sucks!!!! At least you didn't do it on the day of the event though, just to be positive. icon_smile.gif

You might need to have your dh pick you up some Red Bull while he's out. That works even better then coffee. icon_biggrin.gif Oh, and some grey goose to mix with it.

I wish I could say this story had a Happy Ending, but I can't.

We stayed up all night baking.

This time we thought instead of putting all the tiers together we would two and two. MI roads are so bad from all the salt they put on them. We are driving to the reception hall thinking so far, so good. We hit a pot-hole.

The bottom two tiers shifted. We got the cake into the hall and they were tilted. The wooden dowls leaned to the side not giving the support needed and all the tiers came crashing on the bottom tier.

We grabbed the thop three tiers before they fell over. From grabbing them they were a mess. The bottom tier was a complete mess.

All I could do is stand there and think what do I do now. We sent the bottom tier to the kitchen. The top three tiers I did as much repair as I could. With the extra flowers I had brought I covered some of the bad spots I couldn't repair.

I called the Bride, it's 1/2 before the reception begins. I told her I would give her a complete refund and I managed to save some of the cake.

What else could be said.

I spent the entire week making Gumpaste flowers. They were so pretty, I did them in white then colored them in Periwinkle.

For now on all cakes will be assembled at the hall.

I feel rotten, I know there is nothing that can be done, but I still feel rotten.

At least I had suppor from all my CC friends.

Thank you for sharing your story, I have my first three tier cake in two weeks and I will assemble the hall thing there.

What did the bride say when you told her?
