I find it hard to keep a steady hand when you cannot rest you hand or arm on the surface! I try things like resting my elbow on a crisco can sitting in front of the cake- this helps sometimes, but still is not the answer. Don't know if there IS an answer!

When I'm writing directly onto a cake I tend to hold my right wrist lightly with my left hand...if that makes sense! It depends on the angle I am writing. When the words are all down the front of a 3 tier cake then that's a different story...it's hold your breath time and have the medics on standby! icon_lol.gif
