How is the best way to make realistic looking water on a cake? I am making a fishing cake today and wondered how to best achieve the look of water. Thanks.

I always use piping gel tinted blue or green. Good Luck!

Piping gel is great, just be careful not to add TOO much color, it takes color a lot faster than buttercream! icon_smile.gif

Be careful, I found out the hard way that too much color in gel stains everything it touches. It never crusts and I put too much blue in. It was on eveyone's plates and then it was on the tablecloth, etc, etc. But it looked fantastic. Just use a little gel and a little color. You can always add more.
