My cake was perfectly ready to go, and when I moved it to tier the cake my fondant cracked in spots...How could I have fixed it, besides trying to cover it up with polka dots?

Duff patches the cracks with royal icing that matches the fondant color. I've never tried this myself, but he makes it look easy.

You can make some royal icing the same color and use it like a spackle. You can "sand" the royal icing with a damp brush or waiting a little bit and before it dries molding it to the crack. Otherwise, polka dots are a nice touch! icon_lol.gif
