Ok, so I tried a chocolate trasfer or at least I started melting my chocolate for it. I melted the chocolate, put in some Americolor black color and some of the Flo-coat. As soon as I started stirring it up, it started getting really, really thick. What have I done wrong???? Thank goodness it's for my daughters cake and the party is not until Sunday! I think I'm going to stick to the Frozen trasfers!!! Any ideas on what I did wrong? Thanks!

Don't give up yet! I love choc transfers! Did you put your flo-coat in first? Sounds like you choc seized. Either add crisco or flo-coat to the candy melts first and stir it in well --then add your Americolor.

You also might not have put enough flo coat in for the amount of black. Normally if your candy seizes it can still be fixed by slowing adding shortening or the flo coat, how much varies by several factors, a little at a time.

Yes, I think I added the flo-coat first. Maybe I didn't put enough in. I will probably try another one sometime, definately not tonight!!! Thanks for your help and encouragement!

Or use powdered or oil-based colors to begin with. Your chocolate isn't ruined, try adding more flo coat or some oil. Hey, does anyone know what that stuff actually is? The flo coat? I'd bet my shirt its just a really expensive bottle of vegetable oil!!

I actually threw out the chocolate!!! I got really frustrated with it! Better luck next time, right! I bet that's what it is, too! (flo coat) It looks and smells like it! Also, I didn't know to add Crisco so I will try that next time. Thanks soooo much for the advice!!!
