Hi, just found this site earlier today.

I want to make a Buzz Lightyear cake for my nephew's birthday party. Any suggestions for getting a Buzz image onto a cake. Have seen the acronym BCT on the site, but not sure how to approach. Thanks

Here is a great site from cali4dawns tutorial on how to do a Butter Cream transfer...

If you need pictures of Buzz here are some good ones:

http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=buzz+lightyear+coloring+pages

and in color

Try it! You'll like it!

BCT stands for Buttercream Transfer. I am sure someone has link to it on this site... It shows a step by step on how to do it.

I don't do this procedure, but instead I trace the character I want onto wax paper, then fill in with Royal Icing... Full strenght for outlining and thinned for filling... If you check out my pictures of cakes, you can see the characters I have done. For example, "The Fairly Oddparents" cake, the "Scooby Doo Cake", and "Kim Possible" were done this way.

You can choose whichever you find easier and best for you.

I didn't do BCT, I did a shape cake using Wilton's Little Hero pan. I then changed it a little to look like Buzz.

I'm not sure what exactly you were looking to do, but I thought I'd throw that in...

I have not yet got up the nerve to do a BCT myself. What I normally do on characters is a gel transfer. I make a pattern of the picture I want to use...I then trace it with piping gel and transfer it on the cake. You then can outline and fill in your colors. I would think Buzz would not be too hard. My other suggestion would be to have an edible image made of him.
