My cake shop is all done, except for a good cleaning I'm about to get started on. The inspector is coming today at 3:00. I'm super nervous but hubby thinks I have nothing to worry about. For those of you how are liscensed, what are some of the little things I might be forgetting?

Wish me luck!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Make sure there's paper towels in the bathroom to dry your hands with. Also, make sure the inside of the cabinets are clean too.
Sometimes it just depends on what kind of inspector you get. I washed down the walls and everything, but it was a whole lot easier then what I had expected! Good Luck!!

I don't know what tips to give you. I'm no where close to where you are at.

But I am going to send you LOTS of good inspection vibes!!!!

Mine keeps finding things to be fixed. lol

Unfortunately this house was built in 1978 and not taken care of.

Since June they found a now illegal electrical panel that had to be upgraded, black mold in the windows, new windows ariving in 4 to 5 weeks, and the latest...

The stupid popcorn spray on stuff on the ceiling in the dining area (attached to the kitchen) is cracking. I get to scrape it all down and paint it. Thankfully it's coming down EXTREMELY easy.

He told me that he'd rather not inspect until everything is fixed so I don't get dings for "fix it's".

As frustrating as it's been this summer I appereciate all his help.

Best wishes to a passing inspection! thumbs_up.gif

I hope mine goes better than all that. We turned our second garage into a shop so it's mostly new construction.

I do have a tip on the popcorn though. You may already know this, but to get it off really easily, you just spray it with a little water, then scrape. It comes off great, and there's no dust. I learned that when we bought this house. It had gliter popcorn cielings icon_eek.gif We tried scrping it down but it was so messy and dusty that we hired some guys to do it. They came in with one of those yard pump sprayers and sprayed water all over it then scraped it right off. Why didn't we think of that?

Good luck with getting everything done.

I am freaking out!!!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif I did it! My hands are shaking so much that I can barely type. I passed inspection! When the inspector left he said, " You are legal. You can start baking right now!" Which is what I have to do because I have a cake for 300 for Saturday. I had to be liscensed to do this cake and I made it! I think it's going to be my big break.

Thank you all so much for your support. I would have never had a business without CC! icon_biggrin.gif

I'm not sure how many visits. They were going to get back to me on that. He said they would probably call since I don't have regular business hours.

I'm still floating!
