I was looking for one of those cake stands that have the gathered material on them. They look so pretty and i have a cake for this Saturday and would like to make one of these but i can't find a pic of one and would like to see it before i attempt to make one. Any help would be apreciated.

This is a link to the lady who made up this design I think. There are lots of pictures using it.

go to earlenescakes.com. She sells the directions to make the bases but if you're just looking for a photo, she has photos on her website.

Here's one I recently did for a 3 tier stacked cake.

nope. I just bought circle shaped foam and made sure my cake plate fit neatly inside. Then I bought a bunch of material and bunched and wrapped it around the foam. Then I stapled it and put in my plate. viola! thumbs_up.gif

It was a hard florist's circle in the flower arrangement department actually. Not the kind of soft fluffy foam you can soak in water for flowers. The white hard kind you'd use to arrange fake flowers in.
