Can someone please let me know how long my royal icing will last in a covered container? Do I refrigerate or not? I'm afraid to ruin the consistancy. I have some ideas, but any help would be great.

thank you

I personally haven't had much luck storing royal icing. It always seems to get runny. Perhaps it needs to be rewhipped. Anywho...I'll be interested in seeing what kind of responses you get.

I keep mine in covered containers for about a week - sometimes up to two - on the counter (not in the fridge.) It does have to be re-whipped. but I usually do that by hand. Oh and I use dried egg whites in mine, not meringue powder, so I don't know if that makes a diffeence or not. HTH a little.
