Well, I am making this cake for a festival in my home town. I won't be able to be there for the contest so I made out of styrofoam and fondant. My mom is going to enter for me. This is my first major all fondant project. Does it look ok, should I add anything else or do something else. I have some time to tweek. I have put in my bedroom that is kept dark (i sleep days) so I am hoping it won't fade to much. Your comments are greatly appreciated. This is my first contest, next year I might try for the fair. Thanks

Your cake is wonderful! I love the colors and marbeling and the butterflies!!

I am a luster dust freak. If you have access to it, that might add some extra sparkle to the cake- just mix a little of the powder with a little vodka or other clear alcohol until it's the consistency of paint, and paint it on with a brush. Personally, I would put it on the loops of the bow to make them shine, and maybe to the butterflies to make them sparkle.

But you could leave it alone- it's so pretty without it!

I like the suggestion of dusting it a little for some added sparkle. The cake is fantastic - the decorations are just enough and the proportions are perfect. Best of luck and let us know how you do.

It's really beautiful!!! I'm also a luster dust freak (I have a serious addiction to airbrushing with it!!!) so if anything, that is the only thing I'd add.
