We have been making cakes this weekend for a local cake contest back in my hometown for next weekend. My sister called tonight and our red frosting is bleeding into the lighter colors. The cake is a red barn with white door and window. Any ideas on how to fix this? Would you leave as is and just go back over with white frosting again? Darn red frosting. My sister had the same thing happen last year and she got docked points for it. Anything special you can do to prevent bleeding with red and black?

Wish I could post of picture of it. It turned out soo cute.

I don't know if this helps, can you make the doors out of fondant and attach it instead?

You may need to add meringue powder to your BC to stabilize it. HTH.
