Hi my fellow cc'nians,
I went shopping at Walmart last friday and came across
glitter (NON Toxic) in the craft section...

Hmmmmm, I wonder if that can be used on food ? like the luster dust.
I like the way it looks because it looks exactly like those glitters you use on arts and craft stuff. So far this is the kind I have seen that I like. The edible glitter I have been finding in cake decorating stores look like shiny "thin plastic flakes", and I really do not like that. I like the ones that look like very fine sequins. Does anyone know if this is safe on food ?
I read the entire label and it didn't have any warnings except that it clearly says "NON TOXIC"..

It' s probly ok in the way that it won't kill you because of being non-toxic, but I wouldn't risk it. It doesn't seem like it would be food grade and that's what has me wondering.

How are you planning to use it? That may help answer the question.

try eating some, see if it goes down.

Not trying to be funny, but it's a valid answer to your question...

Try taking a bite of it. I think you will find it very gritty and unpalatable. Non-toxic just means it won't kill you if you eat it.

I was thinking of dusting it over gumpaste/fondant roses. or use it like i would with luster dust. Paint on some decoration..

Since I really want to know, I will try and eat some of it. I'm sure I won't die from it. But we'll see.. icon_smile.gif
