Need to find a recipe for Choc BC that is light brown in color.
Have a baby shower cake - Mom-to-be wants the choc, but wants the cake decorated in blue and white- doesn't want fondant, but didn't want too much dark brown either! Ughhhh!
Would you just not add as much chocolate to the white BC? Will it still have a choc taste if I do that?
I'm going to probably use milk choc- it's a little lighter in color than semi sweet or dark.
Don't want to just whip it to death- that may lighten it, but I'd never get it smooth.
Any suggestions or recipes? Help!
If you use some chocolate syrup instead of water or milk it will turn the bc light brown and still have a little chocolatey taste. I've made it this ways and it's very good. hth.
Good idea! The syrup has a pretty strong choc taste. Thanks!
Use the chocolate buttercream dream recipe from this site. It uses candy melts, has an excellent taste and is light brown! HTH!
Thanks- will check it out!
I just made a "whipped chocolate ganache" with milk chocolate instead of the semi-sweet it called for...
It was Lindt chocolate.
The flavour was fabulous, although milder.
The colour was extremely pale in comparison to the last one I made with the semi-sweet.
This time I also added a few drops of chocolate/hazelnut concentrated flavouring.
I believe the recipe came from this site.
It had only the chocolate and whipping cream.
Holy it was good!
I've now bought some dark or bittersweet to try.
I just used cocoa powder in the buttercream dream recipe and my came out a light brown. I think I added about 1/3 cup.
