I've read all the posts on the subject and have two cans that I want to try it on for a cake this weekend.
I think that I will try the crock pot method as I have 3 kids (2 yr. old twins) and don't have the time to keep an eye on the stove for 3 hours.
Not to flog a dead horse, can something please let me know if this is correct .... hot water in the crock to cover the cans, put it on high for 6 hours then turn off and let sit overnight. This should give me the consistency I need for a cake filling all by itself?
yes getfrosted, that should work! It worked for me and I don't think we have over talked this subject! I am loving hearing about all the different experiences and I am amazed and just can't get over how magnificent! Don't know about the cheddar cheese thing, I would try it again!
Thank you skinnycakelady!!!! Will try tomorrow!
i just simmer a tin of condensed milk slowly for 3 hours - topping up the water when neccessary. Let it cool before you ope tin though! It is soooo yummy!
