Have you tried any of these filling recipes? I am wondering if they will be able to hold up overnight.

I am undecided if I want a fresh strawberry filling or strawberry cream cheese filling. It is possible the cake will be made on Fri and not eaten until Sat night. So I guess whichever I make depends on which one holds up the best.

FYI - This is for my dad's 60th birthday. It will be a TX shaped cake of WASC with some kind of strawberry filling and Sugarshack's BC. There will also be stuffed strawberries with the cream cheese/marshmellow filling and dipped in chocolate.

Your links wouldn't open. icon_sad.gif

However, the CC recipes are rated, if that helps.

Also, a cream cheese based filling normally requires refrigeration.

I am making the same cake that you are. For my Aunt's 50 th I'm making WASC with a strawberry filling and Sugarshack's BC! What I'm doing for the filling is taking out about 1/3 rd of the BC and mixing in 1/2 to a full jar of the polander jam to produce my filling. If you want a cream cheese strawberry filling I would probably suggest using Earlense cream cheese BC as the filling only because she says it does not need the fridge and mixing in fresh strawberries or the polander jam.

This filling is great. For strawberry use the lesser amount of sugar. I have mixed this with toba garrett's french vanilla icing for a creamy version of raspberry. It was very good.

ETA: Duh!

JanH ~ Sorry about the links. I usually go by the ratings and try the one with the best rating first. But I also like to hear from people who have tried them, and see how they worked for them. (I like to learn from other's...is that cheating? shhh.gif )

ceme ~ I also posted another thread about blueberry filling. Someone there layered cream cheese whipped filling with the filling that alanahodgson linked. I think I am going to do that. I like the idea of being able to see the different layers.

I'M HUNGRY!!
