I've searched it a little, but I can't seem to find any posts on thawing frozen cake. I baked cakes last week. I just took them out of the freezer. Do I leave them wrapped to thaw??? Or do they need to sit uncovered??

Also, how long do they take to thaw? They are 8 and 10 in rounds, single layer at the moment.

TIA!!!!!!!!!

leave them wrapped to thaw out and it depends on how warm it is in your house to how quick they will thaw. Just want to say one more time: Leave them wrapped to thaw or they'll dry out! They should thaw out completely in a few hours, I do this sometimes too.

i always freeze my cakes overnight (i think it helps keep cake moist) but i ice and decorate them frozen. haven't had a complaint yet
