A friend at work has asked me to do a birthday cake for her daughter. She loves CSI. Immediately, I wanted to something rather gory. I'm having a tough time coming up with ideas. I'm thinking Police tape, foot prints, a body outline...but it all seems on the timid side....Any ideas?

One of the orders I have this month is for an "alien autopsy" cake. One of the things I will be doing for "gore factor" is making a body that has an internal organ pouch made of fondant. Inside the pouch will be gelatin organs with piping gel "blood". This way, when they cut open the cake...
Anyway, just one idea - I'm sure they're more out there. BTW - to make the "pouch" I'll be forming fondant over a balloon and letting it set out for a few hours to harden just a touch before spraying it.

I love CSI too. Does she have a favourite character? Also which CSI - Vegas is my favourite. I would do something about Grishom if it were for me. Also an autopsy table with a body as per kpcrash would be fun.

I just finished it.

The fondant pouch sounded too tricky, lol.

Its in my photos if you're interested in seeing it.
