I'm making a choc chip cookie layer cake, similar to this one made by Cambo:http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=34750

While her cream cheese filling sounds delicious, my family complains that my cakes are too rich, so I'm trying to think of a lighter or less rich filling to use between layers. I was thinking of the Cool Whipped Frosting in CC's recipes: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-712-Cool-Whipped-Frosting.html

Any other ideas?

Thank you in advance,
Gigi

Also thinking maybe stabilized whipped cream or choc whipped cream.

Anyone?

For some reason the first thing that came to mind as a good flavor combo with chocolate chip cookies is vanilla ice cream. Maybe a vanilla flavored whipped cream filling/icing would work.

Great idea ~ thanks for your suggestion.
I ended up just making a plain chocolate brownie cake and we ate it with vanilla ice cream. :>
When I do make the choc chip cookie cake, I think I will make it with thin layers of vanilla ice cream. Sounds yummy to me.
