I am thinking of purchasing some of the dvds from this man
Scott clark woolley. If you have purchased any of his videos would you please let me know what you thought of them. I am someone who can learn like this. But i need to know if it is worth using for my birthday gift from my family 1st and for most.

this is the web site for them:

i have never used the video, but have taken classes using his techniques. I also exclusively use his cutters and the flowers come out gorgious.

if i could convince my husband to spend the money i would have a few of them myself.

I've been looking at them a lot lately- but they just seem so expensive to me. Let me know if you get them- I'd love to hear how you think they are.

I've wanted those videos for months now, but over $150 for the least expensive one is hard to part with. I consider him a cake decorating genius. His creations are as close to perfection I've ever seen, and I'm sure those videos or DVD's are worth every penny. I might ask for one for Christmas.

So ok here is my reasoning for wanting to purchasing the videos.

in order to take a class from the local store. I have to fight traffic pay like 300 to 400 dollars for a famous cake decorator to teach a 3 or 4 day class. then all the supplies. On top of that i can't rewind the teacher at home. LOL So the way i figure it i will be saving money and time.

May be that will help some of my fellow cc family to have a reason to purchase them.

I haven't seen those videos. I did notice that Earlene Moore sells videos of the classes that she teaches. Has anyone bought those??

I have not seen those videos and I don´t think I could justify spending that much money. I also learn better by watching someone do something so instead I bought Nichols Lodge´s DVDs. He has one on wedding cake techniques (double DVD which includes how to make a Harrison yellow rose), one that teaches you how to cover a cake with fondant, how to make gumpaste and a few other basic techniques, another one that shows you how to make bows, drapes and such, one showing you how to make gardenias and peonies, another one showing you how to make the southern magnolia and the bearded iris, one on gumpaste bugs and one on French decorating tecniques where he shows you how to use his toile stencil and a tulip. His DVDs are 19.99 for the single ones and 29.99 for the double one. Worth every penny as are his classes. I believe his website is www.nicholaslodge.com

Hope this helps.
