Wow!! I spoke with a caterer today that is trying to find someone to do a cheesecake wedding cake for a large and upscale wedding he is working next July. He couldn't find any one in his area. He wound up talking with Ace of Cakes. They recommended ME!! icon_surprised.gificon_biggrin.gif I couldn't believe it when he told me Ace of Cakes told him to call me! I think I was happier about that than being in People Magazine. Who'd have thought that Ace of Cakes would have even known about me. (Of course, maybe Ace of Cakes was just looking at the People magazine.)

On a bummer note, when the guy told me it was a cheesecake wedding cake to serve 300 and to be outside in July after a 2 hour ride in transport, I laughed at him. tapedshut.gif I immediately tried to quiet myself. I hope I didn't offend him. I coudn't tell. thumbsdown.gif

I just wanted to share with other cake fanatics that would understand. Thanks!

Thanks tc. I will be turning down the order. A cheesecake in July outside is just asking for trouble. At the very least it's going to be warm and mushy by the time they serve it, and I don't want to be associated with that. Plus I'd be spending so much time on the extended delivery that I'd have to turn down other cakes. Basically I'd charge $150 for delivery, but I'd have to turn away a couple of other cakes, losing up to $1000 in orders. thumbsdown.gif

After ICES I jumped right back into all these wedding cakes, so not much down time yet. Then homeschooling started, and now my husband is off on another training mission, I think I'm going to pull my hair out! icon_cry.gif I can't wait until November when weddings decrease big time!!! ICES was great though, I had a blast with you guys!
