I've made several FBCT's, but I have one to do that is pretty detailed. Can some of you experts give me some advice? Any secret to the fine details?

I have one that is of a pirate in my pics. It was pretty detailed and ALOT of colors! I found it helpful to thin my BC down a little more than usual, and also I have started smearing a very thin layer of crisco on my wax paper before I begin.

Don't forget after it is on the cake, defrost, and crust you can use the Viva on it to help smooth things out if needed.

Silly question, but what is an FBCT?

Fine details?

I don't know if I'm on the right track here or not, but I've used tip #1 for fine details.

Do them first, if possible, so if you make a mistake, they'll be easier to wipe away.

HTH!

Thanks. Before I posted this question I did some research. One of the members said she freezes the outline, then fills in. It keeps the outline from smearing. After I got all the lines done last night, I was ready to quit anyway. So, will try to finish it tonight. Will post when done.
